Mat Osman was born in 1967 in Welwyn Garden City. He later moved to Haywards Heath where he would meet Brett and start a band with him. They moved to London together in 1986 and Mat attended LSE. Mat has been bassist in Suede since the very beginning, but has never gotten much attention. It took him 29 years to write a song, and he'll probably never do it again even if it resulted in a great tune: 'Europe Is Our Playground'.

Mat has a white Mercedes.
